Letting go

The Way is shaped by use,
But then the shape is lost.
Do not hold fast to shapes
But let sensation flow into the world
As a river courses down to the sea.

Por favor

I want to be me!
Will this world let me be!?
I want them to see...
But I ain't free, to hide or flee.

To intergrate,
Is to complicate.
They congregate,
And constipate.

The bonds that bind,
Holds me behind.
You look to find,
But, you are too blind.

You talk the talk,
But can you walk the walk?
Nay, you just gawk,
And squawk and squawk.

You sit and mock,
From under a rock,
You think you shock,
Tick tock tick tock!

So please snigger and snort,
I won't take it to heart,
I'll be a sport,
Coz life's too short!!!

A birthday wish for dad...

Dad your great,
We'd like to say - Thank You,
In more than one way,
Happy Birthday!

For the little things,
And the big things,
That words fail to say...
The scoldings,
The hugs - and,
The love we received.

From the very first day,
We crawled into mum's hands,
You stood by,
And smiled at us...

Your eyes said everything,
Even if you didn't - we,
Didn't understand then,
But we do now.

You nutured us,
Made us grow,
Watched us walk.
We'd follow,
Your footsteps - and,
Wait at the door.

We'd cry to amma - and,
Ask where you went.
But you'd never left,
Beside us every step of the way (in life).

We're celebrating,
Your birthday milestone,
Dear appa, we'd like to say,
Hope you have the best birthday!!!

To our extraordinary dad!

Kudos to my li'l' cousin sis' and to the INcredible.

Grow up!!!

Arrgh!

It irks me so,
To see the people seem to loose their maturity as they get older; rather than gain more...
I mean seriously you'd think that when problems arise they'd take at least a few minutes to sit down and ponder on where they went wrong, rather than find a scapegoat and send them to slaughter!

Why can't people get off their "high horse", I mean not even to ask for forgiveness; but to just take a few minutes and try to understand why others are doing what they are doing; maybe you did something wrong and that is reflected in their actions. As far as I have seen, that is the case.
Nobody suddenly ignores you; unless they've lost their marbles or turned into a vegetable.

Is it that hard to let go of your pride?
I was just reading suchetha's post and going yeah, it's possible to let go of your pride, it should be easy especially when loved ones are involved; but i guess it was just my way of thinking.

As soon as there's and issue; everyone goes on blaming the sun, the moon, the bus driver, the sales clerk... they (we) are all perfect aren't we?
We never make mistakes, if something goes wrong it has to be someone else's fault; OBVIOUSLY!!!

Gah!

Once upon a weekend...

I had nothing much to do this weekend; so when the INcredible asked me, I agreed to attending Multifaith Multicultural Youth Forum by the Victorian Government. It was a nice change from the regular weekends which generally consist of oversleeping and running around to try to get things done; or trying to organise some event or the other.

Woke up later than intended (as usual) and ended up running to catch public transport last minute. After the usual bus and train ride to the city, we met up at Flinder's. Since INcredible had been there for an hour already, and surveyed the route, we were able to comfortably walk there. The architecture of the building was lovely, so yeah, I spent part of the day there staring at the ceiling and the walls.

The MC was really funny and kept the ball rolling smoothly (we later on discovered that he was from the same university as us, and further pestering showed us that the reason we had never seen him was because he was an off-campus student). After a few talk sessions, our group was taken to the council chambers. Whilst my contribution to the discussion wasn't much; I did get to see through other's eyes and learn a little more about other cultures.

The food whilst not excellent wasn't too bad. During lunch break we went for a walk (INcredible people can't stand fusion music apparently :P) with our new friend Rachel. I do say the city's better on weekends; more relaxed and calm. Plus the weather was excellent!!!

There were a few more talks and events. And the day concluded without too many glitches. As usual I left my jacket behind and had to go fetch it! Caught the train home. Lots of anecdotes were exchanged; what a relief it is to be able to converse in one's native tongue!

Quite a nice day. Oh yeah, and I was handed a copy of "The Kite Runner"; looks promising. Ok I'll get around to that rant soon, keep checking.

வளைவழகே!

நீ, நான், பிணைந்து; உலகம் மறந்து!

Main aisa kyon hoon?

Why am I like this?
Constantly reaching for you?
I can see you,
Feel you,
But I cannot touch you.

You are part of my world,
You are my world,
Your fingers tease me,
So light one moment,
A storm the next.

Your smile,
Oh your smile,
Nothing is as bright as it,
Not even a million gems put together,
Can be as bright.

So bright,
Giving energy,
My source of life,
Brightening my world,
Brightening me.

I will never reach you,
That is not my destiny,
It is to look on forever,
Watch your eternal beauty,
Reaching, forever...

Tu-mul-tuo-us Two Twenty Two

"Eh, what gibberish?" you say. You are right; partially...

I started blogging seriously two years ago, on this very same date. Wow, that must mean I'm twenty two! OMG!! It's been over a year since I blogged!!? Oh well, I guess I'll make up for it by increasing the frequency of my blogs... ;)

Why haven't I been blogging? No internet access from home, university, work, fun, laziness take your pick. Change was necessary, but I'm back, with a few twists. I'm going to not only post about geeky or amusing events; but add rants and reminiscence, and while I'm at it, I'll throw in poetry to the mix as well.

How was the past year? In one word?
Tumultuous.

Am I wiser for it? If knowing what mistakes not to make, makes you wise; then I am!

What happened? A lot!
Studies, work, friends, barbeque's, fights, boo boos, visits to the hospital, parties, fights, loneliness, depression, long walks at midnight, weight loss, fights, weight gain, xenophobia, making ups, laziness, regrets, motivation, sport and fun.

I'm too lazy to put all of it down in detail. Plus as Mettavihari said, "You can't open your heart in a blog. It's what it's there for, but it's the one place you can't". I'll try to put this to test, only time can tell though.

The year's been a blast though, even though I have a few regrets, I wouldn't have found out the things I know now if it weren't for the 'issues' that cropped up; thanks to a few souls who've held my hand while I was weeping, babysat me while I as mucking about in my own poo, and given me a good kick in the groin when I needed it. Couldn't have done it without them! Wow, you tend to notice the good things you have when things don't go too well, aye? Friends, I'm lucky to have them, that's all I can say!

Change is necessary. I don't believe in fate, but I do in change; thus I've changed. "For better or for worse?" you ask, well I don't really know, nor do I care. I happy being who I am. The core still remains the same, I'm a xenophobe after all!

Hehe, lets see what the next year has in store...
A little birdie told me 'tis gonna be sunshine... I believe! ;)

Expect a few rants soon!

Oops I did it again!

No this is NOT a post on Obejcts Oriented Programming System.
Nor one about the song.

This is just to let you know that I go (try to) play tennis with my uncle and aunt semi-regularly.
And **drumroll** I ripped my pants... twice! ("dagnabbit' I need to loose weight!)

But playing tennis is fun, so is panting and puffing and trying to catch up with my uncle and aunt when they go for a jog. ;-D

Lost in th wilderness...!

My uncle and aunt recommended that I try to find my way to uni, so I set off the next day with a map and a bus pass (for zone1) and some cash, "just in case". I was supposed to catch 3 buses to get there.

The first bus ride went fine. Just a short ride to the next stop. Got down, saw the next bus I had to catch... and ran to the halt to catch it. As soon as I got on the bus, I found that the zone 1 ticket wasn't valid and I had to get another ticket; then "luckily" the bus was also going in the wrong direction! And I found myself getting down at Monash University, not to be found on my map.(Yepee doodle doo?)

After standing at the halt for 10mins and taking a breather, I started walking towards the junction. Found some friendly people who pointed me the way back to "square one". And then set off again. This time I caught the correct bus and ended up in uni.

Took a look at the uni, and also the buidling where I had to go next day for orientation.
Caught the bus home, and walked the last bit... ;-D to be on the safe side!
